I'm a big fan of Mel Robbins... as a matter of fact, she's one of my BFFs. I mean one of my imaginary BFFs. More on that some other time. Anyhoo, I recall when I first "met" Mel. I was scrolling for a motivational speech to get my day going, and boom, she stopped me in her tracks and checked me - Hard. The better way to put this is that she slapped me up.
In this scroll-stopping speech, Melly-Mel told me that no one was coming to save me. Yep, and while on the surface, I'm sure we all have an idea of that, hearing those words and genuinely landing on that realization was heartbreaking, and I wondered why it had never hit me like that before.
We are the only ones responsible for creating our own future. This may seem daunting at first, but it is also incredibly empowering. When we realize that we control our destiny, we can take action and make things happen.
